The Benefits of Having a Professional Photographer Capture the Spirit of Your Business

Developing a professional reputation for your business is more than necessary, it is vital to doing business successfully – and Public Relations is a very important part of this equation. How your business is viewed by the public can make or break your level of success.

Taking photos of the office, its staff and various other aspects of the business for advertising and marketing purposes needs to be handled professionally if it is going to be done right. Many business owners try to get this done cheaply by taking the pictures themselves or having an employee do the job; this is usually a bad idea. Professional photographs have a certain polished quality that is extremely difficult to achieve on an amateur level. Professional photographers understand how to get the best lighting, perfect location and most flattering view of you, your staff and the office environment. Photographers understand the secrets of capturing a moment in time.

Potential clients need to perceive your business as being successful and lucrative before they trust your services; this is a part of the psychology of creating a great business. This is why professional images are so important in public relations. Experts in the industry know that perception is everything, and nothing gives a more lasting impression than a photograph.

At Mirasolo Photography, our motto is, “Capturing Moments that Last a Lifetime”. Our goal is to take photographs that capture the spirit and nature of your business and to give your clients and potential clients a lasting impression. Professional photography can add that special touch to your public relations photos that makes others able to notice the positive aspects of your business and its services.

As a business owner, it is important to remember that in this information age, the photos you take as a company will be able to be found many years from now, and by everyone who has access to the World Wide Web and social media sites. You want to always be proud of those images and be assured that they represent you and your business in the most positive and professional light.

Celebrate the Coming of Fall with Our Country Kids Collection!

With nature providing the most beautiful scenery, we’d have to say that autumn is an absolutely gorgeous time for taking photographs. The fall foliage and warm colors become the perfect backdrop for a memorable photo session and it’s no secret that children love this particular season; Halloween, apple picking, hayrides and pumpkin carving are just a few fun activities our kids enjoy during this mystical season.

Mirasolo Photography is celebrating the coming of fall with our Country Kids Collection on September 19th, 2013. This will surely set the scene for great photography – with a barnyard setting of chickens, roosters, fresh apples and haystacks, it is a treat for the children as well as the entire family!

The Country Kids Collection gives kids the opportunity to get away from the formal attire that is usually associated for professional photos, and allows them to be relaxed and not-so-stiff. What’s even more, asking your photographer to capture a few candid photos of your children enjoying all of the usual fall finds is a fun and often beautiful way of capturing their youth and innocence. The country setting is very suited to casual, spontaneous, and playful photographs.

Families can get as creative as they would like. These themed events, like the Country Kids Collection, are a perfect time to show up with your imagination and unique ideas. At Mirasolo Photography, we specialize in capturing the playful spirit of the children we photograph and bring our clients’ imaginative ideas alive in our work.

Stay tuned to our events calendar for other upcoming fall season events, such as October’s Pumpkin Patch Kids Collection and November’s Toys for Tots Holiday Collections series, which is one of Mirasolo’s most popular seasonal events!

How to Utilize Websites like Pinterest for Portrait Pose Ideas

If you have already made arrangements for your family portrait or are considering scheduling an appointment to have your family photo taken, you might be contemplating how it is going to look, what your family should wear and most importantly – how you are going to pose.

When it comes to posing for family photos, there are many options. You might want something traditional or you might be looking to go with something a little more fun and quirky. No matter your decision, your photographer will certainly have ideas that will correlate to your preferences. However, it never hurts to do a bit of research on your own.

Just like with everything else, the web is a great place to begin your research of different poses for family portraits. There are endless websites specializing in different family photo examples and ideas. Pinterest is a great place to start your web search. This website is great when it comes to sharing ideas about a vast range of topics, including family portrait poses. You could simply “click” the photography category or narrow your search by searching for “family portrait poses” or something more specific to cater to your preferences. Print out samples of portraits you like and compile a folder.

You can bring these examples to your portrait session to give your photographer an idea of the direction you would like to go in. Here at Mirasolo Photography, we will then be able to use your ideas and our expertise to create a beautiful photograph that you will be proud to show off!

What to Wear for your Next Family Portrait

With everyone’s busy schedules these days, it can be difficult to find the time to actually get everyone together for a family portrait. Then once you do, you realize that the whole event can take a lot more planning than you originally thought. Coordinating time, date and theme are a few of the most important things to agree upon, yes, but deciding what everyone will wear is extremely important as well. Luckily for you, it can also be a lot of fun.

Creativity can play a huge role in planning family portraits so I would suggest channeling that creativity to make deciding what to wear much easier.  Be aware of what your surroundings will be and play into them, making the overall look of the portrait cohesive and attractive, regardless of where you are. Additionally, you want to establish a theme early on; are you going for classic? Fun? What you decide could have a significant impact on your wardrobe.

Here are some general ideas for wardrobe based on the theme you’re looking to go with:

Outdoor Portraits

Beaches, parks and family yards are just a few of the places that make a unique background setting for a family portrait. When it comes to beach portraits, your background is going to consist of a lot of soothing and neutral colors, such as tan, white, blue and possibly green. With this in mind, and the fact that the beach is a naturally beautiful and calming environment, you’ll probably want to steer clear of loud, bright colors. Of course you want to make you and your family a focal point in the portrait, but you also don’t want to offset the balance either.

Classic Photos

The classic family photo style serves as one of the most traditional portrait types known today. The mere mention of a family portrait probably brings to mind a scene of smiling faces and impeccable posture. When it comes to planning for a portrait like this, deciding on a color that everyone will wear, such as white or black, can make all the difference when it comes to combining both unity and style together in one frame. Take the time to find a color that will complement each member of your family and keep in mind that you want your photo to look as timeless as possible.

Having a Little Fun

Sometimes however, you just get tired of the same old poses and you just want to have a little fun. Say your family is really into a particular sport or you’re all very into superheroes. On the day of your portrait, instead of everyone dressing in shades of blue, consider having everyone dress up in their favorite Red Sox player’s jersey for the photo, or get everyone their own superhero t-shirt and form your very own justice league.

Whatever wardrobe style you choose for your next family portrait, remember that it is always important to show off your family’s overall character and to enjoy each portrait for the unique memory it will add to your life.
